I'm afraid that, despite the obvious effort that has been put into this Gresley BCK (with perfect, in register lining), not much is historically correct with regards to the prototype. Five compartments have been portrayed when there should be six. The length looks about correct but the brake section is too long, which is where the 6th compartment should cut in. No tumblehome has been portrayed, which effectively means the coach body should curve in at the bottom into the frames. The coach is too short in height, the roof should finish higher, and with curved in ends. The drain pipes on the carriage end have also been missed. The underfames appear to be too thick, with many underslung boxes missing. There should be carriage board holders on the roof, and ventilators should be present above the door windows. Livery is incorrect, and needs to portray dark and varied teak panelling. All handrails, door handles and hinges are missing and the buffer head shape is also wrong, the buffer heads should be wider. The frames should be a warm brown colour. The lettering and numbering is out of register, especially the position of the red shading which should also include black. Finally, 'LNER' should be present on the final left hand panel and the carriage number should be present on the final right hand panel, not beofre the guard's door as portrayed.

Accuracy review taken from photos of Gresley BCK's and Hornby's latest BCK, with the model's few faults taken into account.
